Elizabeth Arden is one company with many more brands behind it than you might imagine. Photo source Elizabeth Arden.com
Everyone has it: a favorite brand, maybe a bit of brand bias. (“I won’t use MAC, but I’ll use Estée Lauder!”) Unfortunately, most customers don’t know just how many of their favorite brands are actually divisions of the same company. A special thanks goes out to the sources, Kiss and Makeup (primary source from which the list was derived) and The Beauty Brains, on this one.

thank you for posting the list! it;s amazing how many brands relate to each other through one company… do you know who owns philosphy?
I believe Philosophy is an independent company, but I’m honestly not sure.

it doesnt necessarily mean everything’s the same, but these companies were all BOUGHT by the same person. they have different heads and etc. it really doesnt mean that much unless they market and sell products with the same ingredients. because honestly, MAC is different from the “estee lauder” brand that we buy in department stores. how do i know…. one of them carries my foundation shade, the other acts like i dont exist.
