I simply like the way certain brands of mineral makeup make my skin look. I haven't encountered more than superficial benefits, but it isn't surprising to me that a seeming alright product could be harmful.

After using using Neutrogena's Mineral make up, my skin became substantially more oily than it was before I began using the product. Since I have returned to regular Sephora cosmetics. Also, while using the mineral make up by Neutrogena, my skin was much more sensitive to sunlight which, after reading the article by Dr. Baumann, I finally understand why. If anyone has seen marked improvement in their skin after using a type of mineral make up, would you please let me know?

I love Bare Minerals/Bare Escentuals make-up! I have fairly sensitive skin & this is the only thing that doesn't cause either breakouts or oily skin for me. It gives me a smooth, natural-looking complexion & it's so easy to use. As soon as I tried it, I became a life-long fan! I also appreciate that it does not contain as many harmful chemicals as most liquid foundations. Regarding the article by Dr. Baumann, I did appreciate her information on the SPF of this product. As with most products, you have to use quite a bit to get the SPF listed on the package. Based on that, it's best to use another sunblock as well. However, I'm not so sure about her point on gold allergies... I'm no doctor, but this seems somewhat unlikely. I were jewlery & have never had a problem. There definitely could be another reason for the rise in skin allergies (there is a rise in all allergies right now).

I have been a BE (bare escentuals)for quite some time. I was never fond of regular mucky makeup and never wore any for that reason so this fits perfectly and really does give a wonderful look without the gooy face and mismatch neck. Over 40, it gives a smoother complexion, and I just find it hard to believe there could be any problem. If all these people see great results, then why is it such a success? I also think there are far too many chemicals out there...so I guess it's personal preference :)
