The Secret to Non-Brassy Summer Highlights: Ken Paves healthy hair™ Boost Up Color Drops Review

A couple of months ago, a PR agency sent me Ken Paves Color Drops, designed to “boost up” color, while humectants seal in moisture, and the plant product helicogenol protects from UV damage.

At first, I was like, “Well, I have black hair, it’s winter,” and I honestly didn’t notice any difference after using it.  Fast-forward five months and seven very brassy highlights later, and I must say, Ken Paves Color Drops (in black) has restored my reddish highlights to teir original state.  While minimal UV exposure turned my highlights a bit brassy and “orange,” Ken Paves Color Drops made them more subtle chestnut, which is what I was going for anyway.  Word on the street is that the beige formula of Ken Paves Color Drops takes out the “green” tint lighter hair can acquire upon chlorine exposure, while the red formula makes hair less “orange,” similar to the black formula.

My favorite thing about Ken Paves Color Drops?  Less damage to your hair over time.  I was thinking that I needed to to go the salon again, or at least use a gentle hair dye like Loving Care, but Ken Paves Color Drops saved me – and my hair!  When used over time, Ken Paves Color Drops can

A Few Warnings

While I love Ken Paves Color Drops and think they do far more good than harm for the hair, there are a few things to keep in mind:

Ken Paves Color Drops may stain your tub.  You have to immediately rinse your tub following each use.

  • I advise wearing dark clothing with Ken Paves Color Drops, or at least light-colored tops.  The pigment in Ken Paves Color Drops may rub off your hair – though this is a very mild effect.
  • I also advise not getting your hair wet with Ken Paves Color Drops.  Carry an umbrella, and don’t plan to go swimming after you use it!  The product is designed to last only one shampoo, so any form of water will remove it from your hair.

Bottom Line

I love Ken Paves Color Drops because they extend the length of time between damaging color touch-ups at the salon, remove brassiness from the hair, and provide moisturizing and UV-protective benefits as well.  Just don’t get your hair wet, and wear a dark-colored top!  :-)  Product Rating: 9/10.  (High concentration of proven effective ingredients: 3/3.  Unique formulation or new technology: 3/3.  Value for the money: 2/3.  Sun protection: 1/1).
