Anne Hathaway is one of my favorite movie stars today. The star of the upcoming One Day not only is gorgeous and talented, but also has impeccable taste, without a Red Carpet miss in years. It’s been a pleasure watching her grow from awkward yet pretty to beautiful and polished in just over a decade. She is truly amazing to watch, and I look forward to what she has planned next! With that said, here are some of her beauty secrets, as reported by Handbag.com:

LaRoche Posay SPF 60 Fluide Extreme

Anne reportedly swears by LaRoche Posay SPF 60 Fluide Extreme for her porcelain skin, and no wonder: It has been a favorite of derms for years, including renowned Manhattan-based derm Dr. Francesca Fusco, M.D. (Allure, April 2008). And it’s no wonder: Anthelios (Mexoryl) XL, the lipid-soluble form of Mexoryl best for oily skin, provides excellent UVA protection that is currently second only to Helioplex (found in Neutrogena products) in the U.S. market ts (American Academy of Dermatology, 2003). LaRoche Posay SPF 60 Fluide Extreme also has amazing milky consistency that provides a high level of UVA and UVB protection without a greasy feel or telltale white streaks – perfect for that red carpet finish!

Chanel Vitalumiere Foundation

Anne reportedly swears by Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua foundation, for a youthful, sheer look without a “too done” image. Makeup artists often apply Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua foundation with makeup sponges to give a perfect “airbrushed” look, but Anne prefers to use her fingertips to blend this foundation into skin for a super natural look (Handbag.com, 2011).

FutureDerm.com’s Take: Anne not only has great taste in fashion, she’s rocking it in her choice of foundation too. The secret to Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua foundation is its high concentration of methyl trimethicone and dimethicone. Many foundations developed over the past decade contain high amounts of cyclopentosiloxane, but methyl trimethicone and dimethicone are different. Methyl trimethicone and dimethicone dry significantly faster than cyclopentosiloxane. Methyl trimethicone and dimethicone also have a much better “sensory profile” than cyclopentosiloxane with improved skin feel, spreadability, emolliency, and likability amongst clients, according to research from Shin Etsu Silicones.

Looking for more coverage? I recommend Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation, which will do the medium-to-full-coverage trick in one simple coat.

Lancome Hypnose Mascara

Hathaway, a Lancôme spokeswoman, reportedly swears by Lancôme Hypnôse mascara for “spidery” eyelashes and a gentle, easy-to-build formulation that won’t tug the lashes.

FutureDerm.com’s Take: Lancôme Hypnôse mascara is designed to keep eyelashes soft and pliable while still managing to maximize length and volume. The secret is a formulation rich in several different waxes, called SoftSculpt. Most mascaras only contain paraffin, but the mix of other waxes help the lashes stay soft.

Silicones and glycerin further help Lancôme Hypnôse glide across the lashes. Two caveats: 1.) With this much moisture in one mascara, it does tend to run. Allow your lashes to dry for 5-10 seconds before you blink or look up – otherwise, you could look like a Pittsburgh Steeler! :-p And 2.) Tighten the cap on Lancôme Hypnôse well after each use – its high moisture content allows the product to dry out easily!

Ingredients in Lancôme Hypnôse mascara: Aqua/Water/Eau, Paraffin, Potassium Cetyl Phosphate, Cera Alba/Beeswax/Cire Dabeille, Cera Carnauba/Carnauba Wax/Cire De Carnauba, Acacia Senegal/Acacia Senegal Gum, Cetyl Alcohol, Glycerin, PEG/PPG-17/18 Dimethicone, Steareth-20, Simethicone, Sodium Polymethacrylate, Phenethyl Alcohol, Disodium EDTA, Hydrogenated Jojoba Oil, Hydrogenated Palm Oil, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Panthenol, Polyquaternium-10, Phenoxyethanol . May Contain/Peut Contenir : CI 77266/Black 2, CI 77499/Iron Oxides.

Bottom Line

I’m sure looking as glamorous as Anne Hathaway would be a full-time job for most of us, but with these three great, tried-and-true products, we can at least try in our spare time! :-)
