Hi Nicki! I’d love to see an archive of all the old posts, reading suggestions based on articles open, and top articles.
I would like to see posts by topic. You have covered so many skin and hair conditions-and your site already does this now-but because you have been around for a number of years it can be a little difficult to find older posts.
I would love to see a fleshed out Blogroll. After I read all the good stuff on your site, I love to jump to sites you regard highly and recommend.
Posts by topic would be so great! Also, being able to comment on 1 post, right after the post ends, instead of having to scroll down through all the other posts, to get to the bottom of the entire blog in order to make a comment. Also…LESS. Just less of what’s been going on lately. It’s been like a mass barrage of posts every day. And I hate to say it, sadly, I skip through most of them now. Whereas before, I used to read every single thing you put out because it was excellent and relevant. Now? Not so much. Kitty Litter mask? Wow. Just way too much every day and quality seems to be waning. Interviews with Derms and Docs are always great. Reviews and info on the newest products & gadgets = always great = and what I read, and I think most of us read, Future Derm for. Exclusive, detailed, great reviews and heads up posts from Nicki or guests on current & future innovations in skin care products, luxury, drugstore, or otherwise, and the best & newest in-office procedures. That’s what makes Futurederm a must read
Quality over quantity.
Blog posts on more treatment cosmetics would be nice. Foundations and powders, etc., that contain anti-aging or treatment ingredients. Thanks Nicki!
Breakdowns of ingredients, like the one on niacinimide. There are so many “actives” it would be nice to know the benefits of each, if they are truly proven to work, and what can be combined with what.
I’d love to see a feature where you would recommend a facial skincare routine based on a particular skin type. E.g.: mid-thirties, dry skin, caucasian with tendencies toward redness. What would you recommend as a morning/evening regime? What treatments could benefit this type at what frequency? You get the idea!
I love your site for being dedicated to skin care and general dermatology issues. I can get makeup posts pretty much everywhere else, but only your site covers skincare so thoroughly. I hope you stay true to that vision.
@Monica, @Kimme – Got it. Thanks so much! I’m going to talk to the web designer/coder about these suggestions for our re-release on September 15.
@Josephine – I definitely hear you. I feel as though right now I need to stick to an increased number of posts in order to stay competitive with other beauty blogs, but I also understand that I don’t want to let quality wane. I appreciate the honest feedback. I’ll do my best to keep the posts interesting, well-researched, and thorough. Please keep coming back and letting me know how I’m doing in the process!
@Genevive: Thanks! I’ll get on it pronto!
i freakin’ love futurederm! when i first discovered it, i was like, *$&^#%! finally! someone is getting down to the science, facts, and the best of the best. Huge Deal! so i wholeheartedly agree with @josephine. i thought i was the only one, lol. you don’t have to try to stay competitive. you are the competition…seriously, Keep Your Niche!! it’s what truly sets you apart from all those other “beauty” blogs.
