This fall/winter, expect to see a lot of action occurring just north of the ankle. First of all, they are completely on-target with the current trends: oversized; nude color; small-cut peeptoe; and, an ankle strap to boot. Yet what I adore most is their versatility. Pair them with a skirt to be oh-so modern and fashionable, but wear them with pants hemmed 1″ from the ground, and you’ve got a largely traditional look with a figure-flattering heel, and just a peek of toe to be a little cheeky.
Tory Burch Drea Wood Wedge Sandals, $375
It’s hard to pull off designing a shoe that makes it from summer to fall, office to date night, skirts to pants, but somehow, the Tory Burch Drea Wood Wedge Sandal does just that. With an astonishing 5.5″ heel (and 1″ wedge), the Drea Wood is surprisingly comfortable, considering that it makes your average seventh-grader see eye-to-eye with the average supermodel. It’s a bold and sexy shoe with a skirt, but looks downright beautiful and austere with a pair of khakis.
