Over tweezing my eyebrows!
Cate
The Clarisonic! It took over a year for my skin to recover from the breakouts and subsequent scarring.

Like Nicki, I’ve also been guilty of using sunscreen that gave me a “ghost” face complete with white streaks. It still happens occasionally, unfortunately, as my skin’s a tad too dark for all the non-tinted sunscreen (and too light for the tinted ones).

I touch my face too much and pick at my zits….so so so terrible! I can admit that I have been stopping myself when I go to touch my face so I am definitely working on it!
Rama A
i have been guilty of using so many powder on my face that make the foundation smudge and look weird on.
Vicki N
I have a tendency to overexfoliate and I know better! I have recently experienced retinol burns which will require a ton of patience to heal.
Ashley S.
Not washing my face before bed. Big no no!
Jessica Maurer
Not moisturizing my face as often as I should have! No one wants to look like a lizard!
Andrea Darst
not washing off my makeup every night…shame on me!!
Christine A.
Not hydrating enough with water as I feel I am in the bathroom all day, but need to drink more water.
Lucy
1) Using the apricot scrub everyday!
2) Not using sunscreen properly (or even at all) -> contributed to my freckles!
Nat M
I have picked my skin for years. I try not to but I have a serious anxiety disorder and haven’t been able to get adequate mental health care for it. I try to counteract it with prevention.
CharityS
Not choosing the right lip shade.
Jen B.
Not washing my face / makeup off before bed. My skin always looks terrible the next day
Taylor
I tend to pick the skin on my fingers a lot, which really ruins their appearance. I am looking for a cream to get rid of the scarrings and dry skin

I definitely am at fault for touching my face too much… even though I KNOW how bad it is.. I don’t realize it until the damage has been done!
Kat
My biggest skin faux pas was not moisturizing enough. At age 43, I just started using daily moisturizer about six months ago. Using moisturizer has improved my skin, however I regret not starting the routine earlier in life.
Mandy Kirk
Wow where to begin. Not washing my face at night, I keep trying to do it before I am too tired. So hard, moisturize moisturize moisturize. I too did the apricot scrub even up until 5 years ago! Ahh
Tiffany C
Going to sleep with makeup on.. I get so lazy at night!
carmen k
I used to over cleanse my face that my skin became so tight afterward, I switched to much more gentle formula & my skin is much less oily.

Popping my zits and then picking at the scabs
Ceclia
Using sunscreen only when going to the beach. Also, the apricot scrub… hating St Ives right now!
Nat M
Toothpaste as an acne treatment=terrible chemical burn.
Never again!
Mamavalveeta03
I tried to exfoliate the heck out of my oily, broken-out skin and in the process, destroyed my lipid layer! Yes! It is possible Don’t overdo it girls. Simpler is better!
Lynn
over exfoliating or scrubbing too hard and not moisturizing right after.
oh and pick at my acne!
Elyse
I wish I had started wearing sunscreen earlier. That was definitely a major faux pas!
rachel Weinstein
Squeezing pimples, not removing makeup @ nite, not using adequate. Sunscreen. & sleeping. On my face!
Kimberly
I’m going to have to say the time I used a self tanner on my face, but didn’t apply it evenly.
I had orange streaks on my face.
Holly
I have very fair, sensitive skin. I’d say not using sunscreen or products with SPF when I know I should, regardless of the season.
Dee
I think for me it’s been using a self tanner on my face. NOT good. Thank goodness it came off after a bit!
Sarah
I’m guilty of using the apricot scrub too. And also using a moisturizer with spf for night time. That was awful!
Laura
Where do I even begin?! Picking/ touching and not using enough spf every day were my biggest no-nos… and now that I’ve completely quit using any kind of sulfate on my body things are much better- who knew?!
Jennifer Dysart
i sometimes forget to blend my jaw are well and get a foundation line, ewww
Rozy
Cutting- I will always have the scars, literally and metaphorically…
Mel J
I will never forget the trip we took to Dolphin Island, AL in my teens. I thought it was so cool to use that SPF4 spray tan oil. We would just lay out on the beach and literally fry our skin. Thankfully and miraculously, I didn’t get burned, but I would pay $$ to have those days back and wear some real sunscreen. Prevention is the best medicine!
rachel
Kind of gross, but picking at my zits — it leaves scars and red marks. I’m working on just letting them be!
Justine
Picking at acne and not wearing sunblock.
