Giveaway: What Feature Should We Add to Our Website?

Amazon Gift Card Giveaway

What feature should we add to our website? Share in Comments, and you could win a $10 Amazon gift card! Winner announced Friday, July 25, 2014.

As for me: On the one hand, I was thinking we should organize our posts better, perhaps by changing the navigation bar at the top. I wasn’t sure whether to organize our old posts by ailment/concern, skin type, brand, product type, or ingredient — or maybe all five! I really have to think through this, as we have nearly 3000 posts now!

I also was thinking about adding other types of reviews and information to the site that relate to beauty, such as nutrition, fitness, positive thinking, and that sort of thing, but I wasn’t sure how well it would go over with our audience.

Got other questions? Let me know at nicki[at]futurederm[dot]com! Love hearing from you!

Hello! I’ve been an avid reader of your website. I would love to see more posts about skin of color. More specifically, different creams, sunscreens or other products to use to maintain youthful skin.

I would love to see a “futurederm beauty awards” feature. So many brands and products and ingredients…we absolutly need your “best picks”. I also would like to see reviews for other beauty aids and trends, like Dermaroller and beauty supplements (hydrolysed collagen, hyaluronic acid…)

I’d really like to see your recommendations for different age groups. Our dermal and beauty needs change quite a bit during the different stages of life. Also, I used to enjoy your positive attitude posts.

Would love to see skin categories like “oily”, “combo”, “dry” etcetera….and what products you’d recommend for each (like an am/pm routine for each type of skin…using both your products -and- cheaper alternatives, telling us where/what we could substitute if we can’t always afford your own products. Would love a really robust search bar/feature…I know you already have a search bar, but I don’t always find it gives great results…? Maybe a “most popular posts” shortcut? I don’t know if I’d branch out to nutrition/fitness in a BIG way, as I think you have a niche here and shouldn’t necessarily dilute it TOO much. That said, I could see an occasional post that really features something of import like “What Supplements We Should All Be Taking” or “Most Efficient Work Out Routine” (ie, interval cardio training etc) … stuff like that.

I would like to be able to search by authors of posts. Currently, the contributors’ names are clickable, but they simple re-direct to the futurederm homepage.

I agree with Ann Langolis, and I miss the list of ingredients with info about each – I found that to be useful but I don’t see it now. Having the articles organized in the categories you listed would be great! I’d like to see mostly skin/haircare related articles, but I don’t mind the occasional posts on other topics.
