But unlike those formulations, Avene Mattifying Sunscreen SPF 50+ is designed exclusively for acne or oily-prone skin. It has a fairly high concentration of silica and a low concentration of alumina that help to absorb oil on the skin.
Since sometimes making the skin too dry can cause reflexive oil production, Avene Mattifying Sunscreen SPF 50+ takes care of this concern with a few lightweight hydrators to balance out the formulation, such as glycerin, vitamin E, and the silicone methicone.
Overall, this is a lightweight luxury sunscreen that is amongst the best I’ve seen for oily and acne-prone skin. I recommend it.
