All the best,
Jessica Alba and Chrissy Teigen at the 2014 ESPYs — in Avon
For last night’s red carpet, Avon Global Celebrity Makeup Artist Lauren Andersen gave Jessica Alba a bronze goddess look inspired by her gold one shoulder dress, and gave Chrissy Teigen an edgy look to compliment her new hair color.
Here’s how to get Jessica’s look:
- Lauren applied Koh Gen Do Foundation as a base before applying Tom Ford Beauty Shade and Illuminate.
- Lauren then groomed Jessica’s brows with Votre Vu Brow Wax.
- Next, Lauren used Avon Eye Dimensions Eye Shadow in Khaki Chic, using the medium shade on the lid and the darker shade on the corners of the eye.
- To finish Jessica’s eyes, Lauren lined her eyes with Avon Kohl Eye Liner in True Black on the upper and lower lash lines and then added definition with a trace of Hourglass Calligraphy Liquid Liner. As the final dramatic touch, Lauren applied a coat of Avon Mega Effects Mascara in Black to her lashes.
- To complete the look, Lauren applied Kevin Aucoin Beauty The Lip Gloss in Vesuvian.
Here’s how to get Chrissy’s look:
- Lauren groomed Chrissy’s brows with Votre Vu Brow Wax.
- Next, Lauren lined the eyes with Avon Glimmersticks Eye Liner in Blackest Black and smudged it out with Avon Eye Dimensions Eye Shadow in Sultry Smoke.
- For a natural, sunkissed glow, Lauren applied Koh Gen Do Aqua Foundation and added Lorac Baked Bronzer to her cheeks.
- To complete the look, Lauren gave Chrissy a nude lip with Avon Ultra Color Absolute Lipstick in Caramel Comfort.
Botched Patient Can Literally Flip Her Butt Implants—Watch the Insane Clip!
As I’m sure you’ve seen around the web, E! TV has a new show this season called Botched, highlighting plastic surgery procedures gone wrong. One of the unfortunate stories highlights a woman with horribly executed plastic surgery on her butt, see clip here: http://www.eonline.com/shows/botched/news/556756/botched-patient-can-literally-flip-her-butt-implants-watch-the-insane-clip
Almost hard to watch, the woman is able to actually flip her buttock implant around- inside her body! Wondering how this could possibly happen, we have asked Brazilian Buttock-Lift expert Dr. William Bruno from Beverly Hills to answer a few questions for us…
Q: How could this have happened?!
A: This patient has silicone injections into the buttock which were then later removed. At the time of the silicone injection removal, she simultaneously had silicone buttock implants inserted. This was the problem in this case.
Q: How would you (or would you even be able to) treat someone who came in with this kind of problem?
A: The implants should have been placed 6-12 months later, after the area had a chance to heal. I would now remove the implants and wait about 12 months before then filling in the area with fat and possible removing some excess skin from the lower portion of the gluteal crease.
Q: This patient had silicone injections and then an implant. What are the risks of these procedures? Would you have done this yourself?
A: Silicone injections are not FDA approved and are not recommended for injection into any part of the body. There are numerous complications associated with injected silicone (infection, scar tissue) and it is very difficult to remove without leaving significant deformity in it’s place. I would never inject silicone.
Buttock Implants can have the following complications: implant mobility (as seen in the video clip), infection, hard scar tissue formation, wound healing problems with the scar- just to name a few! Most surgeons choose to augment and reshape the buttock with a fat transfer procedure (also known as a Brazilian buttock lift). The transferred fat will be much softer and more natural looking than gluteal implants. I feel that most (not all) gluteal implants appear unnatural looking compared to fat transfer procedures for buttock augmentation.

Wink Brow Bar Organic Threading Reduces Inflammation, Reduces Micro-Tearing of the Skin
THINK: The ancient art of beautiful brows reinvented for modern women
WHAT IT IS: A premium, results-oriented brow boutique offering brow shaping and facial hair removal. The art of
threading dates back to the days of Cleopatra, but the super speedy method continues to be one that is far from easy to master.
Done correctly, it offers precise, natural looking brow shaping without the skin tugging and inflammation of waxing. Get
beautiful results, every time at Wink Brow Bar which brings the age old beauty secret to Manhattan’s chic West Village. All
of Wink Brow Bar’s threaders are highly experienced and authentically trained to accurately shape gorgeous brows. The
brow boutique offers threading using 100% organic thread in a chic, pristine setting where guests can sip mimosas and
champagne while being taken care of by true artisans. Along with threading, Wink Brow Bar also has a full service menu
that includes everything from silky eye lash extensions to Parisian facials with exclusive skincare brand Isabelle Lancray,
bringing global beauty culture to the West Village. The youth-restoring Isabelle Lancray facials feature vitamins, hyaluronic
acid, and collagen that provide efficacious anti-aging.
Though founder Umbreen Sheikh didn’t find her calling as a brow guru until taking time off from her career as a PR director
to raise two children, she was practically born into the beauty business. Umbreen’s mother was known as a master facialist
with a chain of hair and beauty salons across London where she introduced trendy Londoners to threading. Umbreen gained
experience helping out at the salons where she and her mother had clients who would come from all over the country to line
up at the small shops. After moving to New York, Umbreen began searching for a clean, upscale threading salon but to her
surprise, it was near impossible to find. This realization sparked the birth of Wink Brow Bar, New York’s premier threading
bar, in 2012.
At Wink Brow Bar, Umbreen is dedicated to educating women on the benefits of threading which removes hair cleanly and
with more precision than waxing. Ideal for sensitive skin, threading eliminates the possibility of irritations from wax chemicals
as well as burning from hot residue. Waxing also pulls at the skin, potentially causing premature aging around the delicate
eye area. Instead, Wink Brow Bar’s master threaders cleanly remove all unwanted facial hair, twisting organic thread
around hair to pull it completely from the follicle. Though threading is not currently standardized when it comes to sanitation
procedures and technique, Wink Brow Bar endeavors to do just that, providing clients with the highest possible standards.
“Threading is beloved in countries like India and Pakistan, but I found that not many women in New York are as aware of its
advantages—especially since the threading places that did exist in New York are mostly very small and drab with very little
communication between the threader and the client,” says Umbreen Sheikh. “I wanted to bring this beauty culture to New
York in the most authentic and premium way, in a setting that is comfortable, clean, and welcoming.”
