Product Review: Exuviance OptiLight Tone Corrector with Before and After Photos

Reviews, Skin Care

As promised in a previous post, I’ve been using Exuviance OptiLight Tone Corrector ($52.25, morning and night for two weeks, and here are the results:

Before and after shot. The lighting is a little different in each, but you can see that the product made a rather surprising difference.

Overall, I’m impressed with the results.  Normally, I would never use a product that contains retinol during the day, because it makes the skin more sensitive to the sun.  However, I wore a sunhat and sunglasses as much as possible while using Exuviance OptiLight Tone Corrector, and I didn’t find it to be as much of a problem as I thought.

The packaging is great – unlike a lot of other vitamin C serums, the light and air doesn’t hit this product nearly as much.

One actual problem with using Exuviance OptiLight Tone Corrector during the day is that it exfoliates the skin a lot.  I ended up with a lot of skin flying this way and that, which is great for the skin, but makes it difficult (and time-consuming) to apply makeup afterwards.  I ended up having to rub it into my skin for a full 30 seconds or so, making sure all of the skin that was going to be exfoliated was, then applied sunscreen, then makeup.

I’d definitely recommend Exuviance OptiLight Tone Corrector to anyone with sunspots, though.  It’s a solid treatment – so long as you can keep up with the sunglasses and a sun hat during the day, I say go for it, absolutely.  [Read more:  Full Exuviance OptiLight Tone Corrector Ingredients Analysis]

Is this the sort of thing you need to keep up with?
As in: is wearing and reapplying sunscreen after you’ve finished the tube of Corrector sufficient for keeping the spots at bay?
