Saturday Shopping with FutureDerm!: Ann Taylor, Zad Jewelry, MAC and More!

Share Article

When I was a little girl, my mother, grandmother, and I used to go shopping every Saturday morning.  We’d get dressed up, have breakfast, and enjoy each other’s company.  Sadly, that tradition was gone with my grandmother many years ago – but some of those memories will last forever.

And since our recent FutureDerm survey has revealed our readers want more “personal” posts, I’ll bring back our Saturday Shopping feature, where I’ll display some of my favorite finds (or what’s on my wish list)!

This week:

1.)  I don’t know what happened at Ann Taylor, but all of a sudden, I can’t get enough!  The looks are versatile enough to be classy and sophisticated at work, but beautiful and sassy enough for night.  I have my eye on the Cascade Ruffle Print Shell ($98, AnnTaylor.com), as well as the Tall Stretch Twill Pencil Skirt ($78, AnnTaylor.com).

2.)  Strong, statement-making necklaces are all the rage- and I couldn’t be happier.  I’m in love with the Zad Coral Statement Necklace ($48, Zhush.com).

3.)  I am a sucker for a strong, smokey eye and a soft, understated lip, and the creamy, satiny peach of MAC Hey Sailor in Salute! ($23.49, Amazon.com) is hard to beat.  I recommend wearing a gloss with SPF over it as well – it tends to sink into cracks in the lips, and doesn’t have a sunscreen.  But the color and the packaging – so great!

4.)  Success Through a Positive Mental Attitude by Napoleon Hill is just the jolt of purpose and passion that I need to get through difficult days – or thrive on the good ones!   Sometimes life gets so busy, taking a moment to remember your passion and purpose can be reinvigorating and empowering.

5.)  Someone recently sent me Vitamin GH Life Extension – Anti-Aging Supplement K9-GH for the Dog, and I’ve been giving them to my dogs Emmie (a Yorkie) and Pookie (a Shih-Poo, shown) daily.  My dogs are only 4 and 3, respectively, so there wasn’t really a profound difference to be made in their energy or anything.  But they do gulp these vitamins down like candy!  I also talked to a veterinarian friend who said dog vitamins certainly couldn’t hurt, especially since I tend to feed my dogs the same food all the time (oops).  So the vitamins will stay!

What did you think of this segment – keep or nix it?  It certainly was fun to write!  🙂
