The Secret to My 5 Minute Skin Care: Pond’s Wet Cleansing Towelettes

Skin Care

2009.09.05--Ponds Cleansing

I have to say it: As a second-year med student, I’m a busy girl.  And I can’t dub myself a beauty blogger (or future derm, for that matter) if I’m showing up to PBL and lab with blemishes.  Enter Pond’s Wet Cleansing Towelettes ($2.87 – $4.87,   Although non-comedogenic and absolutely free of low-molecular weight alcohols (which can be drying to the skin), Pond’s Wet Cleansing Towelettes combine microfibers and effective cleansing formulations to remove what is reported to be up to 40% more dirt and oil than the other leading cleansing cloth.  Yet what I like most about Pond’s Wet Cleansing Towelettes is the inclusion of effective ingredients – the Pond’s Original Wet Cleansing Towelettes feature a fairly high concentration of antioxidant/anti-inflammatory green tea and soothing cucumber, while Pond’s Age Defying Cleansing Towelettes include exfoliating glycolic acid and anti-aging retinol (however, some experts question using glycolic acid and retinol together, saying it decreases effectiveness of both).

I personally have been using Pond’s Original Wet Cleansing Towelettes for the past 3 weeks, and I can honestly say, they are a lifesaver.  One Pond’s towelette, a quick dime-sized amount of retinol cream (I am currently using Green Cream Level 6), two sprays of the moisturizer Aqualant, and a quick brush of the teeth, and I’m from books to bed within minutes.  🙂   I am also pleased to say that Pond’s Original Wet Cleansing Towelettes don’t dry out my skin, and remove eye and lip make-up effectively as well.

Overall, I give this one a solid 9/9!  (High concentration of effective ingredients: 3/3.  Unique formulation or new technology: 3/3.  Value for the money: 3/3. Sunscreen: N/A).

This is a great blog! I’m new to the beauty blogging scene, but FutureDerm is definitely one of my favorites 🙂 I’ll have to try the Ponds Cleansing Towelettes. I actually just wrote about how at-home products with glycolic acids and other AHAs are reviving people’s interest in professional chemical peels. Let me know what your think!
